The WDC delivers its Strategic Plan through cross-functional work teams bringing together the different skills, expertise and perspectives of its policy, development, investment and administration staff. This team working approach to the delivery of strategic goals maximises in a very effective and efficient way the limited resources available to the organisation:

  1. Contribute to balanced regional development by ensuring that the Western Region maximises its full potential for economic and social development.
  2. Promote the benefits of living, working and doing business in the Western Region.
  3. Support the sustainable economic and social development of the rural economy.
  4. Provide risk capital to small medium enterprises (SMEs) and social enterprises.
  5. Operate the WDC as a competent and effective organisation.

 Straitéis CFI

Cuireann CFI a Phlean Straitéiseach i bhfeidhm trí ghrúpaí ilréimsiúla oibre a thugann le chéile na scileanna difriúla, an saineolas difriúil agus na tuairimí difriúla ó na baill foirne beartas, forbartha, infheistíochta agus riaracháin. An cur chuige oibre foirne seo, a bhaineann le cuspóirí straitéiseacha a chur i bhfeidhm, déanann sé na hacmhainní teoranta, a chuirtear ar fáil don eagraíocht, a uasmhéadú go han-éifeachtach:

Cuspóirí straitéiseacha 2007-2009

  1. Oibriú ar mhaithe le forbairt chothromúil réigiúnach trí a chinntiú go ndéanann Réigiún an Iarthair a chumas iomlán forbartha geilleagraí agus sóisialta a uasmhéadú.
  2. Na sochair a bhaineann le bheith i do chónaí, le bheith ag obair agus le gnó a dhéanamh i Réigiún an Iarthair a chur chun cinn.
  3. Tacaíocht a sholáthar d’fhorbairt inbhuanaithe gheilleagrach agus shóisialta faoin tuath.
  4. Caipiteal riosca a sholáthar do Ghnóthais Bheaga agus Mheánmhéide (GBMnna) agus do ghnóthais shóisialta.
  5. CFI a oibriú mar eagraíocht inniúil agus éifeachtach.
