The WDC Policy Analysis team’s work includes:
- Socio-economic analysis: Analysing data and issues relevant to the social and economic development of the Western Region. This involves bringing a regional perspective to analysing published data, as well as conducting primary qualitative and quantitative research. Work areas include
- Balanced regional development
- Employment and labour markets
- Next generation broadband
- Transport accessibility
- Energy infrastructure
- Rural development
- Business and enterprise
- Publications: Writing and publishing a range of outputs including WDC Reports, WDC Policy Briefings and WDC Insights. These provide discussion and analysis of key regional policy issues as well as specific policy recommendations. See our reports and papers here
- Policy submissions: Making submissions to national policy consultations to provide a Western Region perspective to national and regional policy making. See our submissions here
- Events: Hosting and contributing to conferences, seminars and briefings on a variety of issues relevant to both regional and national development.
