WDC Investment Fund

The WDC Investment Fund can provide investment funding for Businesses, Community and Creative Industries, based in, or relocating to, the Western Region that are able to demonstrate they can provide a return on investment consummate with the investment risk being taken.

We provide funding to three types of enterprises across a broad range of sectors, at all stages of business development lifecycle, from start-up through to expansion. These are:

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through our Business Investment Fund

Community and not-for-profit enterprises through our Community Loan Fund

Creative Industries through our Creative Industries Micro-Loan Fund

Geographically, we invest in the seven counties of the Western Region, comprising: Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.


Our Fund is a €32m Evergreen Fund so all profits are reinvested in other enterprises in the region.

To date, the WDC Investment Fund has had a very significant impact on the social and economic life of the Western Region while operating the fund on a commercial basis.
